There is a site that you can do simple tasks online for a few cents up to a couple of dollars per task. The tasks are called hits or human intelligence tasks.  Now you probably won’t be able to pay your mortgage with this but if you work at it you could make enough to pay for some hosting fees or even your internet bill.  The site is part of Amazon.com it’s called Amazon Mechanical Turk.  It’s based upon the premise that there are some tasks that a computer just can’t do and only a real live breathing human being is best qualified to do.  They call it artificial artificial intelligence.  The phrase turking or mechanical turk comes from a story of a chess playing machine that they called The Turk that was invented to beat other chess players.  It turned out The Turk wasn’t a machine at all but a person inside a machine who knew how to play chess and win.

Amazon mechanical turk is a great way for individuals to earn a little bit of spending money.  It’s also a great way for business owners to outsource tasks that they need to get done inexpensively.  As an internet marketer, you can also learn a lot about some of the tasks that you might want to have done in your business as well.  There are many simple tasks that anyone can do and some more advanced tasks that you can take a qualification test to be able to do.  Things like social bookmarking and tagging or keyword research and article rewrites are often time consuming and repetitive so internet marketers can use Amazon mechanical turk to help them outsource these tasks and free up time for themselves for other tasks that need to be done in their business.  If you are just starting out in internet marketing you can help more experience marketers with their work and make a little bit of money as well as learn what they are doing.  It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
